Benefits to Funders

MNC funders will:
  • Gain knowledge about capacity building and collaborations;
  • Add cost-effective capacity building grants to the grant opportunities they offer;
  • Participate in a professionally managed grant review process;
  • Help nonprofits become more effective grantseekers;
  • Be introduced to nonprofits that may be of interest to them separately from the MNC program;
  • Become part of the MNC learning network; and
  • Learn more about Montana nonprofits and how they serve their communities.
Supporting MNC
Funders can participate in MNC by being a:
  • Participating Funder and contributing to the statewide grants and operations pool, participating in program development and decision-making, and helping to select grant recipients. The minimum contribution is $5,000.
  • Supporting Funder and contributing to statewide grants and operations pool but not directing MNC. There is no minimum contribution.
  • Targeted Funder with a particular interest in funding nonprofits from a:
    • specific geographical area;
    • particular nonprofit sub-sector, e.g., the arts, youth programs, or the environment;
    • statewide association or network membership; or
    • funder’s current and future grantees.
  • Contributions from targeted funders will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
