Benefits to Funders
MNC funders will:
- Gain knowledge about capacity building and collaborations;
- Add cost-effective capacity building grants to the grant opportunities they offer;
- Participate in a professionally managed grant review process;
- Help nonprofits become more effective grantseekers;
- Be introduced to nonprofits that may be of interest to them separately from the MNC program;
- Become part of the MNC learning network; and
- Learn more about Montana nonprofits and how they serve their communities.
Supporting MNC
Funders can participate in MNC by being a:- Participating Funder and contributing to the statewide grants and operations pool, participating in program development and decision-making, and helping to select grant recipients. The minimum contribution is $5,000.
- Supporting Funder and contributing to statewide grants and operations pool but not directing MNC. There is no minimum contribution.
- Targeted Funder with a particular interest in funding nonprofits from a:
- specific geographical area;
- particular nonprofit sub-sector, e.g., the arts, youth programs, or the environment;
- statewide association or network membership; or
- funder’s current and future grantees.
- Contributions from targeted funders will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
